This favorite little hole-in-the-wall in Condesa lives up to all the hype. Open for more than 40 years, El Güero aka Tacos Hola is a Mexico City institution. Even Rick Bayless, the famous chef, cookbook author and television host, featured Tacos Hola on an episode of his popular cooking show Mexico – One Plate at a Time. Located on the corner of Amsterdam and Michoacán, they specialize in my very favorite type of tacos – tacos de guisado (tacos with hearty, slow-cooked fillings) – and always with a variety of vegetarian and vegan options.
