In order to truly appreciate the size of Mexico City you have to view it from above, either while flying in or out of the city or from the 42nd floor observation deck of the Torre Latino. The Torre Latino, or Latin American Tower, is one of Mexico City’s most important landmarks. The 183m (597 feet) tall, 45 story Torre Latino is centrally located in Mexico City’s historic downtown area and offers panoramic views of the entire city. It was the city’s tallest skyscraper at the time of its construction back in 1956. On a clear day you can see all the way out to the mountains surrounding Mexico City, as far as the Teotihuacán archaeological site and the Popocatépetl volcano.
The Torre Latino (Eje Central No. 2 Centro Histórico) is open daily from 9am-10pm. Tickets cost 60 pesos ($5.00) and include admission to the 36th floor Museo del Bicentenario. Tickets are valid for the entire day which means you can take in the views during the day and return to see the city after dark while enjoying dinner or drinks at the Miralto Restaurant and Bar located on the 41st floor.

Oh-WOW!! Truly amazing shots and you are so right- I have been to Mexico City several times (but never really got out into the city) and it’s huge. The birds eye view of Palacio de Bellas Artes is awesome because it shows just how big it is!
Thanks! It was a clear day so the views were really great. It’s definitely a neat way to see the city!
Thanks, another great article. Keep them coming.

Thanks!
Whoa! The Palacio is enormous! It amazes me. I really need to travel more.
It’s pretty impressive from street level as well, but the views from the tower were great!
