Summer has arrived in Mexico City. These past couple of weeks have been unusually warm with temperatures reaching into the low 90′s. Add to that the crowds, congestion and smog, and it’s downright hot in the capital. In an attempt to cool off, people are heading out to the Plaza de la República for a run through the fountains. The fountains are especially popular with the kids, although I’ve seen people of all ages — many fully clothed, shoes, bags and all — making a quick dash through.

Love this post, reminds me of the Pacific NW US – Seattle only has about two weeks of full-on summer but children, dogs and adults can easily be found during those 14 days of exhausting temps dipping into every fountain in town.

I didn’t know that about Seattle, that’s awesome! It really is fun to watch and I was almost tempted to join in, but I held off. If it gets any hotter I might have to reconsider. :-)
